Klobunzele-Weg

The Klobunzele trail is a family-friendly adventure trail that is particularly popular with children with its exciting legends and tricky puzzles. The Terra Nostra trail for adults runs along the same path. The trail is 4.6 kilometers long and leads from Kuhstallweiher to Kohlhunden, on to Ettwieser Weiher and over a hill back to Kuhstallweiher. The Klobunzele is a legendary figure who lives by the Kuhstallweiher pond.

According to legend, it starts dancing if you call its name three times in a row - but if you don't call it exactly three times, it splashes its visitors. Eleven stations await you along the Klobunzele trail. Each of them contains something interesting, such as the origin of the sundial or information about the Devil's Oak, and a riddle about the previous station.

Children who successfully solve the riddle can collect a small reward from the tourist office.

Tree crag

The tree crag is located at the idyllic Ettwieser Weiher pond for all adventure seekers: a climbing garden in the middle of nature that offers excitement, fun and sporting challenges for all ages.

A total of 11 courses with different levels of difficulty take you from your first steps on the ground to lofty heights of up to 12 meters. Whether you are a beginner or a climbing pro - there is an adventure for everyone.

Younger guests and spectators are well catered for: slacklines behind the hut invite you to balance, and children who are not yet allowed to climb in the high ropes course can let off steam with Fendt Kettcars and a pedal tractor. A small kiosk offers refreshments, cakes and snacks - perfect for a well-earned break in between.

Two ponds - double the relaxation for the family

Whether lively or quiet - in Marktoberdorf, families will find two very different bathing lakes for unforgettable summer days.

The Ettwieser Weiher, affectionately known as “Ette”, is a real favorite among locals - easily accessible by bike or on foot from Marktoberdorf. Large sunbathing lawns, shallow banks and a designated non-swimmer area make it the ideal destination for families with children. Anyone who gets blue lips from splashing around can quickly warm up again in the adjacent playground.

The Kuhstallweiher, an idyllic moorland lake directly behind the historic Römerbad, is completely different and just as special. In a quiet location, it invites you to relax. A well-tended sunbathing lawn on the southern shore offers sunny and shady spots for relaxation.

Mini golf

Marktoberdorf's mini golf course at Schwabenstraße 52 is a destination for the whole family. You can put your accuracy to the test on the well-maintained course - and if you need a break, you can treat yourself to snacks, refreshments and cool drinks in the idyllic beer garden.

There is also a lovingly designed playground right next door for younger guests.

Playgrounds

A playground is much more than just swings, seesaws and a sandpit. The focus is on the needs of the children: on the playgrounds in Marktoberdorf, they can develop self-confidence through play in a safe environment and learn how to deal with small challenges.

The town of Marktoberdorf maintains a total of 27 playgrounds that meet precisely these high standards. Great importance was attached to quality and safety when equipping the playgrounds: All equipment - from slides to climbing towers - complies with current DIN standards and offers fun and variety for children of all ages.
